Richard Collier

Why Richard Collier for City Council?

I’m not a politician — I’m an engineer. I solve problems, fix what’s broken, and build systems that last. Wilmington deserves a leader who can bring expertise, practical solutions, and a long-term vision to City Council. Together, we can create a stronger, safer, and more beautiful Wilmington for everyone.

About Richard

Richard Collier grew up on a farm in Eastern North Carolina, where he learned the value of hard work and service. With a 30-year career in civil engineering, he’s helped improve infrastructure across the state and is now running for Wilmington City Council.

Richard’s worked on projects like Mayfaire and RiverLights, helping shape the city’s growth. He’s ready to bring that hands-on experience to local government to manage growth responsibly, reduce traffic, and protect our natural resources—so Wilmington remains a place where families can thrive for generations to come.

Solving the Issues That Shape Our Future

Building a Stronger Wilmington

As a civil engineer, I’ve spent my career solving real-world problems. Wilmington needs infrastructure solutions that are practical, efficient, and built to last — and that starts with someone who knows how to get it done.

Protecting What Makes Wilmington Beautiful

Wilmington’s natural beauty is one of our greatest assets — and it’s worth protecting. I’ll prioritize smart planning that respects our environment and keeps our coast, waterways, and green spaces healthy for generations to come.

A Community Where Everyone Feels Safe

Safety doesn’t happen by accident — it takes smart planning and strong systems. I’ve worked my whole career to create safe, reliable solutions. That’s exactly what I’ll bring to city government.

Long-Term Thinking, Smart Decisions

Engineers are trained to think long-term. From roads to stormwater to zoning, I’ll make sure today’s decisions set Wilmington up for success tomorrow.

Days Until The Election On Nov 4, 2025

I’m running for City Council to bring thoughtful, compassionate leadership to Wilmington—grounded in integrity, collaboration, and a deep commitment to community service. I believe in being a good steward of our city’s resources to ensure a stronger, more sustainable future for everyone who calls Wilmington home.
